BIOGRAPHY
:
Bill
Craig was raised in a small mountain town in Northern California
called Mount Shasta. He listened to music all of the time
when he was young. He loved the Beach Boys, and would excel
at learning the harmonies, with the kid across the street
by the name of Mark Baldi. Bill was always fascinated with
singing groups as he loved all of the old Doo Wop groups and
listened constantly to groups like the Monkees, Simon & Garfunkel,
The Beatles and many more.
Craig
& Baldi grew up as best friends in Mt Shasta and went on throughout
high school and College being in all of the choirs and musicals
such as "The Pirates of Penzance", "The Pajama Game" and "Carousel"
furthering their stage presence and musical knowledge.
Craig
went his separate way in 1987 when he moved to L.A. to major
in Music, and he started his own comedy/Doo Wop act called
Billy Raven & Rip. While in school Bill studied mostly Opera,
while he always had a deep desire to study Jazz. Bill never
quite felt comfortable in Southern California despite his
success with Billy Raven & Rip. In 1990 Bill packed his bags
and moved to Sacramento to study Jazz. It was there, that
Bill Met Future Boyz Nite Out members Tom Griffin, and Tony
Ridenour. After two years of singing Jazz with Tony & Tom,
the three went their separate ways.
Bill
tried to establish a group, but did not have much luck. It
was then that Bill joined a well known group near his home
called Vocal Point (Now known as spiralmouth) Bill continued
to sing with that group until most of those members moved
to L.A. Bill tried even harder to establish a group that he
felt he was destined to be in. It was then that Tom Griffin
called to say he was moving back to Sacramento and he wanted
to get back to singing. Together Bill & Tom rounded up Tony
& Mark and started BNO.
After
8 years and 3 CDÕs Bill has finally found his niche, singing
a cappella to the fans delight as well as introspective, groovin'
original compositions. Bill Writes many of the groupÕs original
songs and is adept at writing commercial jingles as well.
